Working From the Park: Gym, a Dog, and a Morning of Real Work
Driving, the gym, then the park with my 13-year-old Pomeranian, and the work kept moving. What a morning by voice actually got done.

Working From the Park: Gym, a Dog, and a Morning of Real Work
This morning I drove out, went to the gym, and then took my dog, a 13-year-old Pomeranian, to the park. A real block of work got done too. Not from a desk: from the gym between sets and from the park path, by voice, with my AI assistant on the phone.

The real park, this morning. Photo by me.
The morning
The drive was the drive. The work happened after it, at the gym and the park. My dog is thirteen now, so our walks are slow. That turns out to be exactly the right pace for talking through work out loud. He is the same small dog who sleeps under my desk in my workstation post.

What actually got done
By voice notes from the gym and the park, before lunch:
- Approved sending the newsletter I had already reviewed, to all three of my subscribers as a first test. We all start somewhere.
- Made a real decision about what this site stands for: I am a business owner putting AI to work, not another guy with a laptop calling himself an AI agency. I have run businesses in the restaurant equipment world since 2018: distribution, equipment sales, repairs and maintenance. The site should say that, and now it will.
- Greenlit four content ideas for the site and social, with drafts coming back to me for review before anything publishes.
- Set a reminder for something I would have forgotten, so it stops living in my head.
- Parked the small stuff that was not worth today's attention.
What I still do myself
Every item on that list started as a draft or a proposal. The approvals were mine. The workout was mine. The walk was mine, and so was every decision. The assistant did the typing, the checking and the remembering.
The honest part: this does not run my businesses, and it does not save every minute of the day. What it does is simpler. The morning hours I spend being a person are no longer dead time for the work waiting at my desk.
What changed
A few years ago, a morning like this meant choosing: the gym and the dog, or the inbox. Voice plus an AI assistant means I do not have to choose. I have worked since 2018 across distribution, equipment sales, repairs and maintenance, and for most of that time the work waited at the office. Now it fits into the pauses of a slow walk with an old dog.
That is what the AI era actually looks like for an owner like me. Not a demo. A Thursday.

Thirteen years old and still faster than me. Photo by me.
If you want to see where this setup runs when I am at a desk, read my three-computer workstation post. And if you are an owner trying to figure out where AI fits into a real business, that is what this site is for.
Photos are real, from this morning. My dog approved none of this and contributed only the walk.
